ITEM:  Absinthe spoon dating from the 1920's. Absinthe, a liquor made from wormwood with supposedly hallucinogenic properties was banned in many countries at the beginning of the 20th century; accordingly, Abstinthe related items are difficult to find. The spoons were used to support a sugar cube over the top of a glass; water was slowly drizzled over the sugar and the resulting sugar water mixed with the liquor in the glass. Minor age wear on the spoon.
